Behaviour Not-In-Character?

Do we always do what we usually do? Can someone 'hack' or hijack part of our behavour or personality? A strong person, group or cult forcing or inducing us? Would we know? Can we strengthen our personal boundaries from direct or indirect bullying or 'assault'. Includes workplace bullying. Could others get us to believe something did or did not occur?
